Manatees by Moonlight

NEW DATES JUST ADDED!

It is amazing to experience the serenity and atmosphere of the park in the dark. Enjoy the sounds of the manatees exhaling, along with the sounds of owls, other birds and night creatures.

Please join us for a self-guided walk along the boardwalk after hours on Monday, February 10th and Friday, February 14, 2025.

Please arrive at the park by 6:00 pm and tell the ranger at the entry gate that you are here for the after hours event. Please exit the park by 7:15 pm.

Plan to bring:

  • Flashlights

  • Bug spray

  • Closed-toe shoes

  • Water

Important Notes:

  • This self-guided experience will end by 7:15 PM

  • The terrain includes grass lawn, sidewalks and wooden observation decks.

Park entry fees are not included. Typical fees are $4 for a 1 person car and $6 for up to 8 in a car.

ALL HIKES THROUGH FEBRUARY ARE SOLD OUT!

Our Moonlight Hikes are a magical experience, showcasing the park's stunning beauty at night. Our full moon hikes are only once a month and are very popular! As we have a capacity limit, we encourage you to get your tickets soon at the link below.

We have two all-terrain chairs available for those who aren't able to walk the path; up to 2 guests can go on a rolling hike. Please contact khallumbluespringcso@gmail.com to reserve a chair free of charge.

What to bring:

  • Flashlights

  • Closed-toe shoes

  • Water

Important Notes:

  • No flashing or light-up sneakers

  • Please don't bring pets on the hike

  • The hike will cover 1 to 1.5 miles depending on trail access

  • The terrain includes loose, sandy soil and sidewalks, with some roots and trip hazards.

Park entry fees are not included. Typical fees are $4 for a 1 person car and $6 for up to 8 in a car.

The hike will be canceled in case of inclement weather.

  • Hikes typically begin shortly after sundown. In the Summer, hikes may start around 7pm or 8pm. In the Winter, hikes will begin earlier around 5pm.

    The most up-to-date time information will always be posted at the top of this webpage, in our reservation page, and on our social media channels!

  • Some helpful items that we recommend bringing are:

    • Flashlights

    • Water

    • Bug Spray

    • Close-Toed Shoes

    Please DO NOT Bring:

    • Flashing or Light-Up Sneakers

    • Pets

  • The hike will cover approximately 1.5 miles depending on trail access and will take about two hours.

  • Moonlight Hikes do NOT include entry fees to Blue Spring State Park. Typical fees are:

    • $4 for 1 person in a car

    • $6 for up to 8 people in a car

    Depending on the time of year, there may be a $3 cost to reserve your spot for the moonlight hike. This information will be clearly displayed when you make your reservation!
